A short animated film about a broken legTravelling tree
A short animated film about a tree wandering around.Jakarta 2050
Jakarta 2050 is a 3D animated piece that brings awareness to the pressing issue of Jakarta’s rapid sinking. Using an abstract narrative, this work explores the environmental, social, and cultural impacts of a city at risk. Through expressive 3D motion graphics, Jakarta 2050 presents a visual journey that highlights the urgency of this challenge while offering a sense of hope for the city’s future.Spinning Into Trouble
This short film follows a spirited little cleaning robot with a passion for music and an unfortunate knack for chaos. Tasked with tidying up, the robot’s enthusiasm quickly shifts to an impromptu musical performance. As it gets lost in song, the robot's playful personality unfolds, and its clumsiness causes hilarious mishaps around the room. Through a blend of comedic timing, physical comedy, and an expressive soundtrack, the film explores the idea that sometimes, our passions lead us astray but reveal our truest selves. I am exploring the potential of sound and music as narrative tools, specifically in the context of character-driven comedy. The concept or inquiry behind this work is how sound and music can replace traditional forms of dialogue while still conveying humor, emotion, and story progression. The goal is to investigate how music can become more than just background noise, instead serving as the main driving force of the narrative. One key theme in this story is the joy of self-expression, represented by the robot’s uncontainable urge to sing and celebrate, even at the cost of its main responsibility.BE
‘Our existence may be merely a coincidence, but it is a great fortune.’ BE is a 2D non-linear narrative animation exploring the complex relationship between the real and virtual worlds. Using the magical blue tones and dreamlike visuals inspired by modern artists like Chagall, it seeks to soothe the deep-seated human anxiety about the unpredictability of the objective world.Hubworld
Contrary to popular belief, nothing on the internet really lasts forever. Hubworld is a reflection on the decay of virtual spaces online, and how that has an impact on the preservation of culture online. It follows a solitary protagonist as they journey through the fictional 2000's MMO 'Hubworld' right before the game closes it's servers for good, looking for preserve that spark online spaces had years ago.Love in the Form of an Egg
“Love in the Form of an Egg” is a 2D short animation depicting a girl struggling to cook a sentient egg creature that morphs into different types of eggs. The egg creature resembles the motions of a pet, creating all sorts of trouble for the girl. Despite the chaos between the two characters, the girl’s efforts trying to cook an egg were rewarded. This is a metaphor for the animator’s struggles sharing her love to her new pet kitten, “Eggie”. As a new cat mother, there was a lot to learn and misunderstandings can often happen. But at the end of the day, no matter the scratches and the conflicts, the kitten returns the love through purrs and head rubs. She sends this message to people who see themselves as “struggling to provide love” to others and encourages them that their efforts are more than enough. My Monthly Struggle
My Monthly Struggle is a playful and quirky exploration of the ups and downs of menstruation. Inspired by the animator's own experiences, this film delves into the absurdity of monthly symptoms, transforming them into a vibrant visual narrative that aims to spark conversations about a natural yet often stigmatized experience.Nostalgic Overture
Nostalgic Overture is a collaborative animation that pairs vibrant visuals with an evocative soundtrack by composer Alex Purdue. This fluid, tactile piece explores the rich emotions of childhood—happiness, fear, wonder, and imagination—inviting viewers to journey back to their fondest memories. The Night Tram
The Night Tram follows a young girl travelling home alone at night. Along her journey on the tram she encounters a strange, unnerving induvial and suddenly her ride takes a dark turn. This short film explores themes of transformation and invites audiences to discover not everything is as it seems.Tethered Thoughts
A abstract animation that explores the encounter and breakthrough of creative block.IT IS WHAT IT IS
"It Is What It Is" is an experimental and abstract animated short film centered around the interaction of two hands. One hand is dedicated to constructing the ideal and perfect world, while the other hand, refusing to be outdone, disrupts and sabotages the order of the world. Through the entanglement of these hands, the animation expresses the internal struggle of perfectionists and the anxiety they face when confronted with imperfections. The core idea that this animation aims to convey is that nothing in the world is perfect, and only when we embrace our imperfections can we truly find the beautiful landscapes in life.Sun Symphony
Sun Symphony is a 2D-animated and rotoscope-inspired short film set in a near future where sunlight is a rare commodity, and companies construct facilities for people to pay and experience the last traces of natural sunlight before its extinction. We follow a man as he nervously waits his turn to experience what may be his last encounter with the sun and the memories they bring. The aim is to evoke a universal experience viewers can empathize with—a simple moment of feeling the summer sun's warmth amidst impending grim reality, capturing the essence of the calm before the storm. The Scream
This 3D animation features three short food-themed stories, each brimming with unexpected twists and surprises. It delves into the lives of food ingredients, highlighting their vibrant personalities and the dramatic shifts they undergo on their culinary journeys. Through engaging narratives and lively sound design, the animation aims to deliver a fun and playful experience that captivates audiences of all ages.JOULE
A normal little dog, Joule, is happily walking in the park. He spots a ball, a sausage, and a toy. Excited, he tries to claim them, but all of his favourites are snatched away by other dogs with peculiar appearances. Gradually, as his overwhelming anger builds, Joule's body begins to transform…Here and There
Have you ever left somewhere familiar to start over in a new place? Here and There follows a young girl who moves to a different country, grappling with the confusion of settling in, the sadness of missing her family, and the isolation of not understanding the language in a bustling café. As she faces the challenges of independence and seeking belonging, her journey reveals that, even in the most challenging moments, we are never truly alone.BOX IN
The short story follows a new designer who is overwhelmed by the pressures of work and life. It makes her feel like her life is getting worse and keeps her from producing new ideas. Eventually she breaks out of this and comes up with new ideas. And she will try to balance work and life.LUXBIN
This is an experimental animation, my first attempt at animating with blender. I used a luxury presentation to show a trash bin. The absurdity and contrast is amusing, while also implicitly satirizing the product value that some brands force on their products.Coffin Room
"Coffin Room" is a 360-degree animated film that explores the cramped living conditions of an elderly couple in Hong Kong. Narrated by the husband, it captures their daily struggles in a tiny "coffin room" apartment, highlighting the city’s housing crisis.Designed for VR or YouTube, viewers can immerse themselves in the couple’s world and experience their hardships firsthand. By using animation, the film creates emotional depth, fostering empathy and understanding of this urgent issue. Ultimately, "Coffin Room" aims to raise awareness and inspire conversations about housing inequality through immersive storytelling.
